An Atlantic City restaurant is one of the best in the country, a restaurant reservation website announced.
Cafe 2825, located a block from the Tropicana Casino and Resort, serves “simple Italian-American cuisine in upscale casual style,” according to OpenTable.com’s “Diners’ Choice” list.
The Jersey Shore restaurant is among the top 100 in the United States. Other New Jersey restaurants that made the list include Franklinville Inn in Franklinville and Restaurant Lorena’s in Maplewood.
OpenTable.com says that the list — based on an analysis of five million verified diner reviews of more than 20,000 restaurants — represents the establishments “where creativity, consistency, and hospitality meet at every meal, every day.”
A recent diner review of Cafe 2825 characterized the eatery as a “true traditional Italian restaurant with home cooked meals.”
Owner Joe Lautato says that he’s grateful for the honor.
“My first reaction was being grateful and humbled by the award only because we do what we do everyday,” he said in a telephone interview with NewsWorks. “We never ever realize what we do is excellent.”
“We’re grateful for our staff and workers and happy that they’re being recognized for all the things that they do on a daily basis.”
