DiCicco won’t run for re-election

Update: DiCicco confirmed late this morning he won’t seek a City Council re-election.

Unable to face the upcoming battle over DROP, city councilman Frank DiCicco won’t be running for re-election.

Philly.com reports that DiCicco commissioned a poll which showed his popularity was still strong enough to win, but that it would have been a tough fight in a crowded field.

According to the article, DiCicco will support Mark Squilla, president of the Whitman Council, as his replacement.
