Detention hearing Friday for hockey coach indicted on sex abuse charges

    Federal authorities will seek detention tomorrow for Ukrainian hockey coach Ivan Pravilov.

    Pravilov has been indicted on charges that he fondled a a teenage boy who attended hockey clinics in Philadelphia. Accusations of physical abuse by Pravilov were published in a new book by former player Maxim Starchenko.
    Pravilov is accused of taking a 14-year-old boy to a Mt. Airy apartment earlier this month for sexual purposes. The boy is Ukrainian and was staying with a family in Wilmington, Del., while working with Pravilov’s team.
