Delaware inauguration ceremony moved indoors

Due to inclement weather, Delaware officials have decided to change the venue of tomorrow’s inaugural ceremony in Dover.

Rather than hosting the traditional event outdoors at Legislative Mall, the Inauguration of Governor Jack Markell and Lieutenant Governor Matt Denn will be held in the auditorium of Central Middle School in Dover.

Doors will open at 10 a.m. and the event will begin at 11 a.m.

Parking is available on the streets around the school. For RSVP’d guests with assigned parking in lots at the capitol, a shuttle bus will make two stops, one on Legislative Avenue between Water and William Penn streets and one on Legislative Avenue between Duke of York and Loockerman streets beginning at 9:45 a.m.

Seating is first come, first serve. Following the ceremony, a public meet and greet will also take place at the school.

The event will be streamed live on the state’s website, Delaware.gov.
