Delaware Week of Service continues
Delaware’s Week of Service continues through this Saturday, providing ample opportunities to lend a hand and volunteer.
Governor Markell and First Lady Carla Markell inaugurated the Weekend of Service in 2009 to replace the normal glitzy events surrounding the inauguration of a new governor. The program expanded to a Week of Service in 2010.
Organizations are able to register their current needs and volunteer opportunities with the state. In turn, individuals and families seeking ways to give back to their communities are also able to learn about what may interest them.
The Week of Service concludes with volunteer fairs being held in each county on Saturday April 16th.
