Delaware teacher accused of assaulting autistic student

A Delaware teacher at a program for students with autism has been arrested for allegedly pushing a 6-year-old student into a bookcase.
Anne Gullo, 52, of Newark, Delaware, turned herself in Monday for an incident that took place on October 16, according to the Delaware State Police. The student, police say, is enrolled in the Delaware Autism Program and suffered a minor injury to his back.
Gullo was charged with second degree child abuse and released on $500 bail.
Gullo has also been placed on administrative leave, according to a spokesperson with the Christina School District, which administers the Delaware Autism Program.
