Delaware students names as All American basketball finalists

Twenty high school students from all across Delaware have been named finalists in the McDonald’s All American High School Basketball team.

Players are still being weeded out, and the final 24 boys and 24 girls will be announced during an ESPNU broadcast Feb. 10 — just a small portion of the initial 2,000 prep students chosen.

Ten male and 10 female students were selected from Delaware. The Wilmington News Journal has the complete list of finalists and their high schools.

The nomination is an even bigger honor for the girls, as the team just began including females in 2002.
