Delaware student named Gatorade’s Cross Country Runner of the Year

Aside from being a great student, avid volunteer and passionate environmentalist, Haley Pierce can run. Fast. The junior at Delaware’s Tatnall School has been named Gatorade’s Delaware Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year for the second year in a row.
Pierce now moves onto the national competition, the winner of which will be announced later in the month, the Wilmington News Journal reports. Pierce has completed and placed in the Nike Cross Nationals Southeast Regional championships, the Nike Cross Nationals Final, the New Castle County Championships, the DISC Tournament and the Joe O’Neill Invitational tournament.
