Delaware police connect Wilmington man to a string of robberies

A Wilmington man is now behind bars, facing a number of charges after committing a string of robberies since May.

Delaware State Police arrested 21-year-old, Joseph A. Rosado on Monday. Detectives said Rosado is believed to be connected to five armed robberies in New Castle County.The latest robbery took place yesterday at the Artisan’s bank branch located at 4901 Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington. That’s where police say Rosado approached two bank tellers and demanded money from their cash drawers.

An undisclosed amount of money was turned over to Rosado who then tried to escape by car. Investigators said when Rosado realized he had locked himself out of the vehicle; he then tried to flee on foot.

Police eventually caught up to the suspect, taking him into custody.

Rosado is charged with 6 counts of Robbery of the first degree, Possession of a Firearm, and Criminal Mischief along with a host of other charges.

Detectives have linked Rosado to the BP on DuPont Highway and Shell Gas Station on Newport Gap Pike. Rosado is accused of robbing the Cigarette Outlet in Bear twice last month.
