Delaware playground fire ruled arson

    Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office has determined that Tuesday evening’s fire involving playground equipment was arson.

    Tuesday evening at approximately 6:30, the Holloway Terrace Fire Company responded to a report of a fire at the Simonds Gardens Park playground.

    At the scene, firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from the playground equipment.

    Deputy Fire Marshals investigated the area and determined that the fire was started intentionally.

    It is estimated that the significant damage done to the equipment is about $60,000.
