Delaware pediatrician’s victims notified of settlement payouts

More than 1,400 victims of a pediatrician who sexually abused young children are learning of the amount of money they will receive as part of a $122 million settlement of a lawsuit against Beebe Medical Center, the Medical Society of Delaware and five doctors.

The News Journal reports that attorney Bruce L. Hudson, who represented about 150 former patients of Earl Bradley, says victims and their families are now learning how much they will be compensated.

The case began with 17 victims suing in 2010, months after Bradley was charged. Beebe and the other defendants were accused of knowing Bradley posed a threat but failing to report him.

Bradley is serving 14 life sentences after being convicted in 2011 of raping or abusing 86 patients whose attacks were videotaped.
