Delaware man killed in hit and run accident

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — Delaware state troopers are searching for a driver who struck a pedestrian in Wilmington and kept driving last night.

Police say 41-year-old John B. Turner was crossing West Newport Pike late Friday night when he was struck. Turner was thrown about 30 feet onto the sidewalk and was later pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

Delaware State Police say the unknown vehicle fled the crash scene. Investigators are working to determine the make and model of the vehicle. They say it likely has damage on the right front passenger side. Troopers want to speak with the driver.
