Delaware man killed by train in Newark

A 39-year-old Newark man was hit and killed by a CSX train around 10:40 Thursday night near the 100 block of Madison Drive in Newark.

Police say the train’s conductor and engineer saw a man laiying on the tracks, but couldn’t stop the 52-car freight train in time to avoid hitting him.  He was found dead at the scene by police.

Police have identified the man as Aric Pringle.  The incident is still under investigation.
