Delaware jogger attacked on Newark trail
Newark Police are searching for a man who beat a woman unconscious as she jogged along the James Hall Trail Monday night.
Police say the woman was found along the trail near Phillips Park around 8:45 Monday night. She was unconscious, but breathing.
When she regained consciousness, she told investigators that she was shoved to the ground from behind while jogging and then punched in the face several times.
She told police the attacker was wearing a ski mask and gloves during the incident. Police describe the suspect only as a “large, unknown race male.” No property was taken from the victim and there were no witnesses.
The victim was taken to Christiana Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
