Delaware gas prices fall by three cents a gallon

At the start of one of the busiest travel weeks of the year, Delaware gas prices average $3.30 a gallon.

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports a three-cent drop in the price of gas from a week earlier.  However, the average price is still the highest ever for this time of November.  Millions of Americans are planning to take to the roads in the coming days for the Thanksgiving holiday.

“Although economic concerns continue to influence financial decisions for many Americans, that’s not stopping many from gassing up to travel to be with family and friends,” AAA Mid-Atlantic Public Affairs Specialist Jana Tidwell said.  She added that many analysts believe gas prices will drop slightly through the remainder of the year.

Fluctuating crude oil prices and concern about the U.S. and European economies continue to affect gas prices.   The national average was $3.36 a gallon, while prices averaged $3.42 in Pennsylvania and $3.20 in South Jersey.
