Delaware gas prices drop in time for holiday travel

Gas prices are at an all-time high for a holiday season, but the December decline at the pumps in Delaware continues.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas is $3.19 as of the start of the week, down from $3.24 the previous week.  The national average is $3.23.  Fluctuating crude oil prices and national and worldwide economic concerns continue to impact the price of gas.  AAA Mid-Atlantic Public Affairs Specialist Jana Tidwell said “despite recent declines, motorists will be paying the highest ever gas prices at Christmas.  However that doesn’t seem to be deterring over 83 million Americans (91 percent of holiday travelers) who plan to take to the roadways in the coming weeks.”
