Delaware County program provides green funding for municipalities

For Delaware County municipalities that haven’t seen federal funding for energy efficient projects, the Delaware County Council has come through with money. The council has set $700,000 aside for townships to use for green projects.

The 46 townships must apply for the aid, which can be used for things like solar energy, lighting upgrades and energy efficient HVAC systems, the Delaware County Times reports.

Practical Energy Solutions of West Chester will host four instructional seminars this month and next to talk about implementing green projects in townships and how to apply for the county funding. All projects must be completed by July 2012.
