Del. man sentenced to 106 years for shooting at officer’s home
A Delaware man who fired shots into a police officer’s home as two children were sleeping has been sentenced to 106 years in prison.
David M. Watson, of Laurel, was sentenced Friday for his role in the drive-by shooting.
He was convicted of shooting last December into the home of a Dewey Beach police officer he had never met. No clear motive was established.
The shootings didn’t injure anyone, but the officer’s two sons were sleeping in bedrooms on the same floor where Watson fired shots.
The News Journal of Wilmington reports that Superior Court Judge T. Henley Graves told Watson “you don’t care who you hurt.”
Watson still faces charges in Maryland. Police believe he fired shots last December at two law enforcement officers’ homes in Wicomico County.
