Opens Friday, December 9. Kimmel Center’s Verizion Hall, 260 S. Broad Street. Peter Nero leads the Philly Pops for concerts of seasonal songs, featuring vocalist Ashley Brown, the POPS Festival Chorus, Philadelphia Boys Choir, African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas Gospel Choir, and organist Peter Conte. Tickets available online.

 

Holiday tours of Fairmount Park Houses

Friday, December 9 -Sunday, December 11, 10am-4pm.Six of Fairmount Park’s houses open their doors for special holiday tours. Visit Cedar Grove, Laurel Hill, Lemon HIll, Mount Pleasant, Sweetbrian, and Woodford Mansion on your own ($5 per person per house) or via a trolley tours ($25 per person) that leave from the Please Touch Museum (4231 Avenue of the Republic) or the Fairmount Park Visitor’s Center (16th and JFK at LOVE Park) at 10 and 2 daily.

Lucia Fest
Friday, December 9, 6 and 8pm; Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11, 2, 3:30 and 5pm. Old Swede’s Church, Columbus Blvd and Christian Street. Gloria Dei was constructed by Swedish settlers and has hosted worship since 1700. This weekend, Gloria Dei hosts its annual Swedish holiday pageant with traditional songs by candlelight in historic Old Swede’s. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids.
Greensgrow Farms Holiday Bazaar

Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., 2501 E. Cumberland Street. Shop local arts and craft vendors at Greensgrow’s Holiday Bazaar. Buy handmade goods and deck the halls with Greensgrow’s greenery, from trees of all sizes to winter flowering plants.
