D.A. says he won’t charge Holy Family basketball coach

The Philadelphia District Attorney’s office has announced it won’t press charges against Holy Family basketball coach John O’Connor. A former player accused the coach of assault during what O’Connor said was a drill to toughen up the team after a loss.
Sophomore Matt Kravchuk rejected O’Connor’s apology this morning on Good Morning America, saying he’d lost respect for the coach and wanted action that the university had promised him in response to the assault claim.

The D.A.’s office has ruled the confrontation is not a prosecutable criminal offense.
