Authorities would not say how the suspect was killed.

SEPTA says all trains on the Manayunk/Norristown line will remain suspended until 8 a.m. this morning while police investigate.

Fox’s dog was also shot, but is going to recover.

Fox was a seven-year department veteran and a marine who served two tours of duty in Iraq. Chief Joseph Lawrence says Fox was married with a young child and a second on the way. He called Fox “a hero.”
