D.A. doesn’t know how many cases tainted by arrested cops
Officers charged with stealing heroin to re-sell. One has been on the force for a decade.
With three Philadelphia police officers facing charges of stealing heroin, the arrests those officer have made are now facing scrutiny at the District Attorney’s office.
The three officers are accused of stealing heroin from a drug supplier with plans of reselling the drugs. Tasha Jamerson is spokesperson for the District Attorney’s office. She says the office is reviewing the officers’ arrests and the cases resulting from them.
“Any cases that involving any of the three officers testifying, they will not be called on to testify, they will not be witnesses in any of those cases. If that testimony is crucial in the case, then that case will be dismissed.”
Jaimerson says they are still totaling up the cases, but with one officer being on the force for 10 years there could be plenty of them still in the system.
