CSX bridge reconstruction forces road closure
Newport Road will be closed between Delcastle Technical High School and Kiamensi Avenue for the next year while a CSX railroad bridge is replaced..
As part of the construction, the bridge along Newport Road will be replaced, a portion of the road will be rebuilt, a storm water management pond will be created, and a five-foot shoulder will be added. The project will cost nearly $2.5 million, and should be done by this time next year.
