Wednesday, Dec 8, 2010
200 block Montana St. – Insignia 54″ flat screen TV stolen from the property. Complainant said she heard a noise in the living room while she was in bed and when she went downstairs the front door was open. There was no sign of a forced entry.
5700 block Wayne Ave. – complainant said someone robbed the store at gunpoint and afterward fled on foot. Complainant was taken to the Northwest Detectives Division.
7300 block Germantown Ave. – two Apple laptops and an iPod Touch stolen from the property. Complainant said there were no signs of a forced entry. He also said he had a roommate.
Unit block E. Chestnut Hill Ave. – $150 worth of gift certificates for ACME, two digital cameras, and $25 gift certificates a number of stores were stolen from Our Lady of Consolation Church.
Thursday, Dec 9
5300 block Chew Ave. – Four cell phones stolen from a Team Mobile store. Police could not contain any video footage.
5600 block Boyer St. – complainant said someone took the pad lock off the front door and stole copper piping from the basement.
5300 block Chew Ave. – complainant said someone came into the Team Mobile store and stole a cell phone from the display wall. The store has video and a witness.
1000 block E. Chelten Ave. – 1993 Subaru Legacy stolen between 8:05-8:15 Dec. 9. The complainant said her son was allowing the vehicle to heat up.
900 block Vernon Rd. – complainant said an acquaintance hit her in the face several times and choked her. The offender was arrested and taken to the Northwest Detectives Unit.
4900 block Baynton St. – three electrical heaters stolen from the property between 9:30 p.m. Dec. 8 and 9:15 a.m. Dec. 9.
300 block E. Price St. – complainant said an acquaintance punched her several times during a fight, causing a swollen eye and lump on her head. She was taken to the hospital.
7200 block Bryan St. – XM radio, two Direct TV cable boxes and four remote controllers were stolen from a 2001 Jeep Grand Laredo.
Unit block W. Chelten Ave. – four computer desks, four computers, eight phones and more stolen from a tax office.
Friday, Dec 10
5800 block Crittenden St. – bed, purse, CD’s, 50 shirts and more were stolen from the property. Complainant said her neighbors told her the building’s landlord and another man took the items.
7900 block Forrest Ave. – complainant said that an acquaintance punched her in the face and stomped on her back and ribs. Complainant was taken to the hospital. The Northwest Detectives Division was notified.
6500 block Wister St. – complainant said two guys punched him and kicked him to the ground and took his book bag.
1300 block E. Johnson St. – 2000 Chrysler Cirrus stolen and returned. The vehicle was city-issued.
79th Ave. / Ogontz Ave. – complainant said someone robbed him at gunpoint and fled the scene. The offender took seven bus tokens and a My Touch 3-G Slide cell phone.
900 block Wadsworth Ave. – leather jacket, flight bag, cell phone and a GPS system were stolen from a vehicle.
100 block Hilltop Rd. – complainant said someone broke into his house through a rear window and stole $400 from a drawer.
Saturday, Dec 11
Limekiln Pk. / Haines St. – complainant said that an acquaintance struck him in the head with a shoe during a fight. The shoe left a large gash requiring several stitches.
7800 block Temple Rd. – complainant said his brother-in-law struck him several times with a clothes iron during a fight. Complainant was taken to the hospital for cuts he sustained to the back of his head, left eye and forehead.
300 block Church Lane. – 1973 Chevy Camaro stolen between 12 p.m. Dec. 10 and 1 p.m. Dec. 11. *-Complainant said the car had two flat tires. Police said skid marks at the scene mean the car may have been towed.
Unit block E. Garfield St. – 2005 Nissan Altima stolen.
400 block W. Mount Pleasant Ave. – complainant said an acquaintance assaulted her in the hallway of the apartment building, then chased her with a knife into the apartment. Police responded and made an arrest.
Sunday, Dec 12
2400 block 77th Ave. – pocketbook, $900 rebate check and a $50 pension check stolen from the property. Complainant said she lives alone, but suspects her grandson or granddaughter took the items.
1300 block E. Haines St. – complainant said someone shot at her house and then fled on foot. Police found possible gunshot markings on the front of the house.
Unit block Montana St. – complainant said someone shot him from the street after he opened his front door after someone knocked. Complainant didn’t see anyone and was taken to the hospital.
5400 block Wayne Ave. – 1989 Honda Prelude stolen between 5:40 a.m. Dec. 11 and 11:30 a.m. Dec. 12.
7000 block Ardleigh St. – two tires stolen from a 2008 Cadillac sedan stolen.
Unit block W. Chestnut Hill Ave. – gold necklace and wedding band stolen from the property between 4 p.m. Dec. 9 and 1 p.m. Dec. 12.
Monday, Dec 13
5600 block Chew Ave. – two air conditioners, four bikes, two computers, six TVs and more stolen from the property. Complainant said she was in the witness protection program when her landlord removed the items from the house without permission. Items were taken afterwards.
1600 block Middleton St. – complainant said his son struck him in the back of the head with a metal rod during a fight between the two. The father was taken to the hospital.
400 block Church Lane. – 2001 Mitsubishi Galant stolen from 8 p.m. Dec. 12 and 2 p.m. Dec. 13.
400 block E. Walnut Lane. – radio, DVD player, iPod Touch and a GPS system were stolen from a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix.
Unit block Collom St. – complainant was found motionless inside the property with a gunshot wound to the head. Complainant was pronounced dead at 3:37 a.m. Dec. 13. Two witnesses were also in the house.
100 block W. Gorgas Lane. – complainant said one of her roommates may have taken $500 from her closet. Complainant said her roommates have the keys to all the house’s rooms. There was no forced entry.
400 block W. Walnut Lane. – 2001 Hyundai Sonata stolen.
8600 block Rugby St. – complainant said her ex-boyfriend threw her out of the driver seat of 2007 Chevy Impala while they were stopped in front of the location and drove off. The car was later recovered, but a wallet containing credit cards and a license was not.
Tuesday, Dec 14
Stenton Ave. / Gorgas Lane. – 2008 Chevy Impala stolen. Complainant said she was in an accident and when she returned the car the gone.
1900 block 73rd Ave. – complainant said someone grabbed him, threw him to the ground and asked him to empty his pockets. Complainant injured his knee, but nothing was stolen.
1100 block E. Upsal St. – 1999 Pontiac Bonneville stolen.
1800 block 73rd Ave. – 2007 Chrysler Sebring stolen between 7 p.m. Dec. 13 and 7:54 a.m. Dec. 14.
100 block Meehan Ave. – gun was stolen sometime between Dec. 13 and Dec. 14. Complainant said someone stole the firearm from a safe. He said his uncle was the only one home at the time.
Unit block Collom St. – complainant said a group of women kicked in her door and began hitting and kicking her. The complainant said they also pulled out a knife, but wasn’t injured.
1500 block E. Mount Airy Ave. – four pairs of jeans, two sweatshirts, a sweater and more were stolen from the property between 6 p.m. Dec. 5 and 6 p.m. Dec. 14. Complainant said someone took the items from her storage closet at the apartment building. The garage door that leads to the storage room does not close properly.
