Councilwoman Bass plans several Philly Clean Up stops on Saturday

When volunteers fan out across Northwest Philadelphia for the sixth annual Philly Spring Cleanup on Saturday, they may run into Eighth District City Councilwoman Cindy Bass who plans to join events in Tioga, Nicetown and Germantown.

After morning stops in the North 22nd Street Corridor and Clearfield Street’s Heritage Park, she is scheduled to join the Nicetown CDC in the 4400 block of Germantown Ave.

From there, it’s off to Germantown and Chelten Aves., where Bass and state Rep. Stephen Kinsey will help volunteers with Germantown Restoration CDC and Germantown Special Services District clean “one of the most traveled of the City and announce the collaboration of several community and city entities to revitalize the Germantown and Chelten Corridor.”

That announcement is scheduled to be made around 12:30 p.m.

Afterwards, it’s off to Rufe Street, near the Wister Train Station, for a clean-up aimed at “addressing a chronic short-dumping site.”
