Council on Christmas
Never a city to let things go or make a decision and stick with it, Philadelphia is continuing its tradition of harping on the important stuff: the Christmas/Holiday Village.
Councilwoman Joan Krajewski is calling for the “Christmas” to be put back into the Village at Dilworth Plaza. For those just tuning in, the Christmas Village briefly became the Holiday Village. Then the signs were taken down (partially), making it the Village, allthewhile the city continued to market the holiday display as the Christmas Village of Philadelphia.
Krajewski wants the Christmas sign back up, in honor of the Philadelphians who celebrate the holiday, Heard in the Hall reports.Though she’s got no authority to demand the sign be returned to its original state, Krajewski has issued a resolution to do so. Councilmen Brian O’Neill, Frank Rizzo, Bill Green and Jack Kelly have signed on thus far.
‘Tis this season.
