Corbett’s signature protects prescription drug benefit for 30,000 seniors

Bipartisan legislature support and a signature from Gov. Tom Corbett mean 30,000 Pennsylvania seniors will keep their prescription drug benefits under PACE and PACENET.

The seniors were in danger of losing their eligibility due to cost-of-living-adjustment increases in their Social Security payments, as WHYY’s Mary Wilson reports. The two programs provide about $2,400 per enrollee for prescription costs annually.
