Corbett out of back surgery, recovering in Pittsburgh

    Pa. Gov. Tom Corbett is set to return to Harrisburg by the end of the week, after a successful back surgery and expected two-day recovery in Allegheny General Hospital.  With Corbett under the knife, Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley was acting governor but Corbett resumed his gubernatorial duties upon waking from anesthesthia. 

    The surgery is part of Corbett’s treatment for spinal stenosis, and he is reported to be resting comfortably, according to the Associated Press.
