Corbett expected to sign bill protecting young Pa. reality TV stars

A bill expected to be signed by Pa. Gov. Tom Corbett will mean fewer lights and less camera and action for young reality TV stars in the state.

Drawing a blank trying to come up a reality TV show filmed in Pa.? How could you forget “Jon & Kate Plus 8” so quickly? Not to mention the newer hit, “Dance Moms.”

The bill, as reported by the Inquirer, will limit the number of hours child reality stars can work, and also sets parental supervision and education guidelines. A House member sponsored the bill after scrutiny over how much the eight children of Berks County residents Jon and Kate Gosselin were working.

The bill also requires that the underage stars have trust accounts for money earned from the show.
