Corzine unveils official gubernatorial portrait

Former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine is unveiling his official gubernatorial portrait–but the public will have to wait a while to see it.

The bearded former governor hosted a private unveiling for 200 friends and family Monday at Morven Museum & Garden in Princeton, once the site of the governor’s mansion.

The portrait will make its way to the Statehouse to join paintings of other former governors later this summer.

The portrait was painted by artist Loren Dunlap and cost $25,000. Corzine, who’s is now chairman and CEO of MF Global Holdings, a Wall Street brokerage, picked up $7,500 of the tab and the cost of the party, The Star-Ledger of Newark reported.
