The comfortable weather that began yesterday will continue for a few days until heat and humidity return on Wednesday, forecasters say.

Mostly sunny skies will prevail today and temperatures will rise to the lower 80s. Another relatively cool night is ahead with low temperatures in the lower to middle 60s. A light and variable breeze will eventually turn to the south tonight.

Similar conditions are on tap for tomorrow as high pressure will remain in the area.

By Wednesday, high pressure will begin to move offshore, leading to a warm southerly flow that will usher in hot and humid condition. High temperatures will be in the middle to upper 80s on Wednesday and Thursday, peaking around 90 on Friday before cooling slightly to the upper 80s on Saturday. It will feel hotter with the high humidity.

Each day will be cooler at the beaches.

Typical summery thunderstorms are possible beginning Thursday and lasting through Saturday, although sunshine should be the predominate feature each day.

By Sunday, temperatures will drop back to the 80s and conditions will become less humid with a low risk of thunderstorm development in the wake of a frontal passage.

There’s a low risk of rip currents today and tomorrow.
