Cold weekend was a busy one for Red Cross

    Fires in Kensington, West Chester and Southwest and West Philadelphia kept the Red Cross busy over the weekend. The Southeastern Pennsylvania chapter provided relief for four fires in a 48-hour period.
    Four families have been given financial assistance for things like food, winter clothes, lodging and shoes. Winter is typically busy for the Red Cross, but the agency has had an especially packed two weeks. Dave Schrader says the Southeastern Pennsylvania chapter has responded to 15 single-house fires in addition to the Global Leadership Academy fire and gs explosion in the Northeast.
