Code Blue

The frigid conditions have prompted Camden to declare a Code Blue, meaning the city will open “warming shelters” tonight from 6:00 PM through 6:00 AM tomorrow.

According to a release from the mayor’s office, “The city of Camden is concerned for the safety of persons who may need access to a warming shelter during extremely cold/freezing nights creating ‘Code Blue’ conditions.”

The city will also be in contact with Respond, Inc.’s Path Program to provide homeless shelter services during the winter months.

In case you’re wondering about the forecast that prompted that Code Blue, today it will be windy in the region with highs in the mid 30’s.  Tonight, the winds should subside with lows dropping into the mid 20’s.  Tomorrow highs in the mid 30’s as well, but we’ll swap out the wind for sunshine.
