Code amendment prohibits back-in parking at Cinnaminson motels

A code amendment in Cinnaminson, N.J., targets potential criminals at the six motels along Rt. 130.

In addition to the parking, staffing and other requirements of motel owners, the township will now prohibit drivers from backing into parking spots.
PhillyBurbs reports the nose-in requirement is meant to thwart criminals who back into parking spots to shield illegal activity. The code change also makes it more difficult for criminals to flee the scene.

    Violators will be fined $100.

Fear not, people with lots of luggage and those generally opposed to being told how to park. The ordinance is for parking, but it’s still OK to back into a spot to unload stuff.
