Cleaning Kensington

It took three deaths for something to be done about the blight in Kensington. Though a spokesman for Mayor Michael Nutter said the recent cleanup up several Kensington lots said the plans were in place all along, the process was fast-tracked to help police catch the Kensington Strangler.

Among other, abandoned and neglected lots at Ruth Street near Hart Lane, Cumberland Street near Jasper and Tusculum and Front streets, have been cleared and swept to deter drug addicts, prostitutes and, hopefully, a strangler.

The Daily News has the details on each property’s cleanup.
