Civil suit

A Philadelphia man is suing police on Fair Lawn, NJ, for a violation of his civil rights. Truluck Legette Jr. says six borough police officers attacked him while in a holding cell in July 2009.
Legette charges the officers singled him out at the time of his arrest because he is black, and then used force in the holding cell when he reached to unzip his jacket, says a report from NorthJersey.com. Included in the complaint is a statement that says Legette’s jacket had been searched three times before he unzipped it, implying he could not have a concealed weapon at the time of the incident.

The suit is for $10 million.
