City Council responds to demonstration against Philly school cuts

Philadelphia City Council members have scheduled a press conference this morning to address yesterday’s demonstration against state cuts to schools.

Fourteen people were arrested yesterday after more than a thousand members of SEIU Local 32BJ and their supporters marched from the Municipal Services Building to the School District of Philadelphia to rally against cuts planned for the district.

Councilwoman Maria Quinones-Sanchez, D-7th, will lead a press conference with other members of council to respond to the demonstration.
