City Council adds public redistricting hearings

Last week the Committee of Seventy called out City Council for scheduling only one public hearing to discuss the redistricting of Philadelphia’s councilmanic districts. So now council will have three.

In addition to the Aug. 16 hearing already scheduled in council chambers, two other times and locations will be announced,  in response to a request from the NAACP Philadelphia Branch, according to a release from City Council.Once the bill moves though council’s Sept. 8 session, an additional public comment period will be available. And if you want to redraw the map yourself, come to WHYY tonight to do so.
