Christie named vice president of Republican Governors Association

Already a vice chairman on policy at the Republican Governors Association, Chris Christie is now the group’s vice president.

Christie had already been serving on the group’s executive committee, as the Associated Press reports.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker was named to the RGA’s executive committee to fill the opening made when Texas Gov. Rick Perry jumped into the presidential race.

RGA Chairman Bob McDonnell praised Christie and Walker for cutting budget deficits and for their education platforms.
