Christie announces education legislation, state environmental chief visits Philly

N.J. Gov. Chris Christie was in Camden today where he announced legislation for public-private education partnerships for some of New Jersey’s struggling districts. Tonight on the show, we’ll hear from Lizz Fieder about Christie’s plan and the reaction to it. Later, Carolyn Beeler takes us on a tour of a an energy efficient home in the middle of the afternoon heat.

How exactly is the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection approaching natural gas extraction? Susan Phillips caught up with DEP chief Michael Krancer today and yesterday at two Philadelphia events to discuss the Marcellus Shale. Krancer says he wants to be known as a tough enforcer of the state’s industry.
