A former University of Delaware employee has pleaded guilty to federal child pornography charges.

In a plea deal with prosecutors, Adam C. Paxton waived indictment this week and pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography. He faces a minimum five years in prison when he is sentenced in January.

Paxton was arrested in February as authorities investigated a Louisiana-based child pornography network that solicited and distributed videos and images of young boys engaged in sex acts.

Authorities say Paxton, who worked in UD’s Environmental Health and Safety Department, used both his personal computers and one or more university computers to access the images.
