Chestnut Hill’s Metropolitan Bakery will be moving out of the storefront its occupied on Germantown Avenue for 15 years as of Jan. 10.

On Jan. 23, the bakery will open up shop just down the road in the Market at the Fareway, formerly known as the Chestnut Hill Farmers’ Market, located at 8229 Germantown Ave.

There are no plans yet for what’s to come in the soon-to-be vacated bakery location, according to Martha Sharkey, executive director of the Chestnut Hill Business Association.

“We are just thrilled the bakery is staying in Chestnut Hill,” added Sharkey.
