Chester Upland teacher, board president sent to hospital after physical altercation

Things are, shall we say, not great for Chester Upland School District at the moment.

Following — but unrelated to — yesterday’s news that the state wants a third party to help keep the financially distressed district afloat, the Delaware County Times reports board President Wanda Mann and a teacher have been sent to the hospital after having a physical altercation.

Spokesman Joel Avery confirmed, saying Mann was attempting to defend herself while trying to talk with a teacher who allegedly brought his or her child to school to fight another student.
