Chester students learn portion control with giant bar of candy

Teaching kids portion control by showing them a giant bar of candy sounds counter-intuitive.

But the students at Columbus Elementary in Chester seemed to be OK with looking at, but not eating, the 12,190-lb. chocolate bar that visited them Wednesday.
The Delco Times reports World’s Finest Chocolate made a stop at the school as part of the Think Big, Eat Smart!” tour. More than 80 schools in the country will see the giant candy bar and learn about sugar and portion control.

The giant bar remained encased in the school parking lot and students each received a small piece of candy and a jump rope.

Sounds like a lesson in portion control and will power.
