Chester County teen crowned Pennsylvania Fair Queen

A Unionville, Chester County, high school student was name Fair Queen at the Pennsylvania Farm & Horse Show. Unionville High School’s Claire Werkiser claimed the title — the first her school has seen in 25 years.

Werkiser became Unionville Fair Queen in September and competed with more than 60 other local queens for the state title. She’ll now act as ambassador for the fair association in the more than 100 state fairs slated for this year.

The Kennett Paper reports the aspiring model and journalist is an honor student, serves on student council and is involved in multiple school organizations.
