Chester County lays off more computer department workers
Technology can help governments do the same amount of work with fewer people.
Which is great, except when you become one of the extra people. Additional Chester County computer department layoffs and restructuring have been announced, the Daily Local reports, because new technologies have made it easier to do more with less in the department.
Fifteen full-time employees were let go last Monday, leaving the department with 75 employees. Other reorganization has been done, too, and the layoffs are expected to save the county $1 million.
