Another Democrat is new mayor in Cherry Hill

    Cherry Hill is staying under control of a Democratic mayor.

    Democrat Chuck Cahn defeated Republican Stephen Buividas inyesterday’s election to replace the retiring Bernie Platt.

    Platt, a Democrat, has been mayor of the township of 71,000 near Philadelphia of since 2002. The town is the largest suburb in southern New Jersey.

    Cahn is a semiretired businessman who sold his family’s office equipment company in 2005. Buividas is a lawyer.
