Cherry Hill red light cameras go on today, start with warning period
The 30-day warning period for Cherry Hill’s red light cameras starts today. The cameras go live today at Route 70 and Springdale Road.
An eight-month study of the intersection observed 400 crashes, the Courier Post reports, and a study by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety found the cameras reduced fatal crashes by 24 percent in 14 of the biggest U.S. cities.
After the month-long warning period, offending motorists will be fined $85 for each violation. About 80,000 vehicles pass through the intersection daily.
