Celebrate spring at The Porch
Spring is here and University City District is celebratng by relaunching its free, fair-weather programming at The Porch at 30th Street Station. So as weather warms up and you’re looking for a place to enjoy lunch al fresco – perhaps with a side of accordion or circus arts – check in on the Porch and take in the theater of urban life with 30th Street Station as the backdrop.
The Porch’s season officially begins on Wednesday, April 3 with live music presented by WXPN, street performers, and food trucks from 11:30-2:30pm.
Here’s what else is on tap at The Porch during April:
Weekly:
- Mondays + Fridays: Accordion Serenade, Noon-1pm
- Wednesdays: WXPN Philly Local, Wednesdays at Noon (4/3: Dante Bucci; 4/10: The Fleeting Ends; 4/17: Christie Lenée; 4/24: The Splashing Pearls)
- Wednesdays+Fridays: Food Trucks: Wednesdays (The Cow and the Curd, Cupcake Carnival, Lucky Old Souls, and The Sunflower Truck Stop) and Fridays (Just Jackie’s, Say Cheese, Spot Burger, Sweetbox Cupcakes) from 11:30am-2:30pm (Pay as you go.)
- Thursdays: Bodyrock Fitness at 6pm (4/4: Bootcamp; 4/11: Bokwa; 4/18: Zumba; 4/25: Bootcamp)
Special Events:
- Backpack Gallery: Friday, April 5, 11:30am-2:30pm. The Backpack Gallery brings contemporary visual art and performance to The Porch.
- Give and Take Street Performers and The Little Circus: Friday, April 12, 11:30am-2:30pm. Drop in on street performances featuring juggling, comedy, cirus arts, and vaudeville.
- The Porch Beer Garden: Thursday, April 18 and Friday, April 19, 3-8pm. For a second year running enjoy German and craft beers from Bridgewater’s Pub outside at The Porch. (Pay as you go.)
