Catholic schools closed today as teacher contract negotiations continue

After business as usual and then a modified scheduled, Catholic high school students in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will be off from school today as their teachers continue contract negotiations with the diocese.

As of yesterday, the Association of Catholic Teachers offered to return its members to the classroom if the Archdiocese agreed to mediation, but the diocese maintains the issue should be settled among the knowledgeable parties without outside help.

Negotiations will continue sans mediator, and students will have to find something else to do today.
